WordSearch Universe is a free word search puzzle library with over 20,000 puzzles across 500 topics and 13 categories. Every puzzle can be played online or printed — no account required.

Why we built this

Most word search sites are cluttered with ads, have a handful of puzzles, and make printing painful. We wanted something better: a clean, fast library with enough variety to actually be useful — whether you're prepping for a classroom, looking for a relaxing break, or just love word puzzles.

• Browse & play — 20,000+ puzzles organized by category, topic, and difficulty. Filter by grid size, word count, or age group.
• Print anything — Every puzzle has a clean printable version with adjustable font sizes and an optional answer key.
• Create your own — Use the puzzle creator to build custom word searches with your own words. Download as PDF or share online.
• Track your progress — Build daily streaks, earn XP, set personal best times, and unlock achievements.

The puzzles

Every puzzle is algorithmically generated and validated for solvability — every word is guaranteed to be findable in the grid. Words are placed in all 8 directions (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and their reverses) with difficulty scaling from easy (fewer words, simpler directions) to expert (more words, all directions).

Free, and staying free

The core experience — browsing, playing, printing, and creating — is free and always will be. No paywalls on puzzles. No account required to play or print.
